Unfortunately, we can't guarantee every proposal will be accepted. Our priority is to build a balanced, comprehensive program. In doing this, we may decide that certain sessions fit less well than others. We also have limited space: we are offering only so many sessions this year, so it may be a good idea to get your submission in early.
Deciding Whether to Apply
If you have been a presenter at Toronto Mindcamp, click here to see the bio we have for you on file. (Even if you're not, you can see the bios and pics other presenters they have used in the past. We are using this as a model for our event.)
Atlanta Creativity Exchange (ACE) is a place where you can meet and interact with other interested in creativity. It is, for leaders along with everyone else, primarily a learning experience. As a potential presenter, you are invited to share some of your own learning with others as well, but it's important that you understand what Mindcamp is, and what it isn't, from a leader's perspective. ACE is...
- ...a time for everyone to learn, including leaders. It's not a place to drop in, dump your ideas, and leave; nor is it a place to sell yourself or your products.
- ...an opportunity to take risks and try out new directions. It's not a place to flog the polished, practiced presentation you've been giving for years.
- ...primarily a coming together of colleagues. There's a max of 130 participants, of whom about a third will be presenting and many more already active in the creativity business. Clearly it's not a great fishing ground for new clients (although it IS a great chance to meet people within the creativity field).
- ...a non-profit event, in which everyone pays their expenses, except in cases of financial need. It is not a paying gig.
Selection Criteria
- Does your session fit the spirit and purpose of ACE? We want our participants to learn, to have fun, and to discover new ways to be more creative in the their work and personal lives.
- Does your proposal state clear learning objectives? What will your participants take away from your session?
- Is your session fresh? Will participants find it compelling?
- Is your proposal clear and complete? Do we understand what you're trying to say?
- How was your feedback (if available) from the previous Mindcamp?
- Can we provide the logistical support you need for your session?
- Are you participating in the whole weekend?
